
The Employment (Amendment) Ordinance 2025 amendments to the provisions for “continuous contracts” under the Employment Ordinance will be applicable starting next Sunday, January 18. Has your attendance system made the necessary two functional adjustments?
🌟Basic Function One – Simultaneous Processing of 417 and 468 Checks
Although the logic for calculating “468” already covers most scenarios for “417”, the system must be able to simultaneously detect whether individual weeks reach 17 hours but not 468, because reaching 17 hours in that week already meets the continuous contract threshold.
🌟Basic Function Two – Sick Leave Hours Calculated as Working Hours
Hours of absence due to employee sickness or injury are also calculated as working hours for the purpose of a continuous contract.
