有一天，看到 IT Head 寄出那封標題為『AI 戰略研討會』的電郵時，我和市場部的同事對看了一眼，手心竟然有點冒汗。我們那台跑不動 Excel 的舊電腦，難道終於要迎來 ChatGPT Plus 的春天了嗎？
那次 IT Head 召開『AI 戰略研討會』，我們幾個同事甚至提前十分鐘到場，筆記本都翻開了，心裡想著：『公司終於肯揼錢買 Enterprise 戶口，我終於唔使再用私人 A/C 慢慢磨。』這是我當天唯一的工作指望。
IT Head 打開投影片，那是第一張，也是最後一張。
他緩緩移動滑鼠，指向一個 YouTube 連結，轉頭對我們露出一個神祕的微笑：『這些影片，大家週末回去研究一下。』我聽見旁邊同事手裡的原子筆掉在地上的聲音。那一刻，我聽著冷氣機的運作聲，看著螢幕上的 YouTube 播放鍵，突然意識到：原來老闆要的不是 AI，他要的是『我們表現得像 AI 卻不花他一毛錢』。
最便宜、最好用的 AI 根本不是 ChatGPT，而是我們這群會自己看 YouTube 進修、然後用私人戶口幫公司捱義氣的『血肉 AI』。
最後，大家收起筆記本，默默走回座位。公司轉型沒發生，但我對職場的幻想卻徹底轉型了。」

I often hear the boss saying, “Have you asked AI yet?” At first, I thought the company was actually serious about transforming!
Then one day, I noticed the IT Head sent out an email titled “AI Strategy Workshop.” My colleagues and I exchanged glances, and I could feel a little sweat forming in my palms. Was our ancient computer—good only for limping through Excel—finally going to welcome the era of ChatGPT Plus?
At that “AI Strategy Workshop,” a few of us even showed up ten minutes early, notebooks at the ready, thinking, “Finally, the company is willing to shell out for an Enterprise account! No more struggling with my personal one!” That was my one glimmer of hope for the day.
But as the IT Head opened the presentation, we were met with just one slide. He slowly moved the mouse and pointed to a YouTube link, then turned to us with a mysterious smile: “These videos, take some time to watch over the weekend.” I swear I heard a colleague’s pen drop to the floor at that moment. As I sat there listening to the air conditioning hum and staring at the YouTube play button on the screen, it hit me: the boss didn’t want AI; he wanted us to “perform like AI without spending a dime.”
The cheapest and most effective AI isn’t ChatGPT; it’s us—a crew of self-taught YouTube watchers who use our personal accounts to help the company out of sheer loyalty.
In the end, everyone closed their notebooks and quietly went back to their seats. No transformation took place, but my illusions about the workplace? Completely shattered.
