
The Malappuram police in Kerala, India, have uncovered a major counterfeit certificate operation, seizing more than 100,000 forged degree certificates and transcripts, along with over 100 core documents covering fields such as medicine, nursing, and engineering. The counterfeit documents featured forged seals, anti-counterfeiting labels, and were produced using advanced printing equipment, allegedly linked to 28 universities. Each fake certificate was priced between 75,000 to 150,000 rupees (equivalent to HKD 6,000 to 12,000). Ten suspects have been arrested, and the police are continuing to investigate the broader network involved in this operation.
