My introduction to Technosoft happened 10 years ago during a project. My impression of them was that they were very “hardcore”—tech-focused, direct, no-nonsense, and produced high-quality code. During this visit, when asked about the company’s history, Anthony said somewhat shyly: “The company started back in my student days. Our graduation project was a system for import/export companies. Since we’d already written it, we figured we’d try to sell it… and surprisingly, people bought it.”
As Hong Kong transitioned from an import/export hub to a transshipment port, that first product gradually became obsolete. To survive, they had to adapt. Technosoft then dived into HR systems. At the time, many thought, “HR is so simple, why would anyone need a system for that?” But as Technosoft dug deeper, they realized that “nothing is the most complex, only more complex.” They weren’t just handling payroll for Hong Kong, but for locations all over the world. Hong Kong people are known for being sharp with numbers, leading to some incredibly creative logic—every company truly has its own “difficult sutra to chant” (unique challenges). As a result, they’ve stayed in this field for 30 years. Besides their own brand of HR systems, Technosoft also acts as the powerhouse payroll engine behind many other systems.
