點解掃舊貨？全因個客既Tender寫緊嘅係24個月前嘅新款Tablet，由寫份tender，到招標，到審批，到award，已經經歷咗24個月嘅時間，d Spec交咗上去又唔可以話改就改，一日未award個tender一日又未買得，到終於買得既時候，已經out 晒date，唔想個客要走9萬幾層approval去改spec，我地全team出動掃晒全港既貨，係唔係好想試番次呢~

One day, I confidently walked into a tech store.
Me: “Do you have the ‘Samson’ xxx model tablet?”
Sales: “Oh, that model is pretty old! How about checking out the new yyy model?”
Me: “Nope, I only want the xxx model. I need 60 units. Do you have stock?”
Sales: “60 units?! 😱 Let me check… There are only 20 in our warehouse!”
Me: “What? Only 20? Well, better than nothing! I’ll take them all!”
After I paid, I turned to leave, feeling like a superstar, and the sales rep paved the way for me, bowing 90 degrees and thanking me as if I were buying 20 gold bars!
Why were we hunting for old stock? It’s all because the customer’s tender was for a new tablet model that was released 24 months ago. From writing the tender to bidding, approving, and awarding, it took a whopping 24 months! The specs submitted couldn’t be changed on a whim. Until the tender was awarded, we couldn’t make the purchase. By the time we finally could, the models were totally outdated. Not wanting the customer to go through layers of approval to change the specs, our whole team went on a citywide treasure hunt for what was left. Isn’t that an experience worth trying?
